History

1972 – SBV founded by Josef Schnaberich

As a consultancy and sales company for semi-finished metal products for the automotive and engineering sectors, the technical expert and mechanical engineer was responding to increased demand for German semi-finished metal products from across the world. With innovative customised and product-specific solutions, the dynamic and fast-growing company built up a worldwide network, particularly in Asia and Latin America.

2000 – Transfer of company to Paul Schnaberich

The handover to the next generation brought greater experience from the automotive and supplier industry to the company. The range shifted from individual products to ready to install series components.

2003 – Cooperation with investment casting foundry in China

SBV developed links with the ISO 9001 certified Taizhou Jinding and Taizhou Xinyu investment casting foundries in Jiangyan, China. Since 1996, the foundries have been producing investment cast parts for engineering, tool manufacture and the automotive supplier industry, particularly for the German market.

2006 – Joint venture Taizhou Autowel Manufacture

SBV enters into a joint venture with the two investment casting foundries under the name “Taizhou Autowel Manufacture”. It produces high quality, ready to install investment cast parts for the automotive and engineering industries.

2011 – Opening of XINYU Investment Casting foundry

To serve the growing market, the new foundry was opened in July 2011.

2017 – Rapid Prototyping partnership

Extension of services to include Rapid Prototyping.

The former partner company is now part of the Xinyu Group.

2018 – Xinyu Group IATF 16949:2016 certification

The certification successfully achieved in 2018 (IATF 16949) means that the Xinyu Group can meet the increasingly tough requirements of the automotive industry.

2023/2024 – Construction of a new investment casting foundry in Thailand (Rayong)
