Cast parts from SBV Stahltechnik
Cast parts you can rely on. When it comes to dimensions, function and repeat accuracy, standard solutions are not an option. We manufacture cast parts that do exactly what they should. Ready to use, cleanly manufactured, technically well thought-out. Clarity instead of compromise.
Why cast parts are often the better solution
Cast parts allow geometries that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with milling, turning, or welding. Functions such as cavities, reinforcements, or fastening elements can be depicted in one casting. This reduces the number of individual parts, saves assembly time, and lowers error potential.
The use of tools ensures consistent dimensional accuracy across many components. Economically, casting is often the better choice, especially for medium to high quantities. With the appropriate materials, cast parts can meet even demanding strength, temperature, or media resistance requirements.
Four techniques, many solutions
We manufacture cast parts using investment casting, die casting, water glass casting, and vacuum casting. Each process has its specific advantages. The decision depends on several factors, including quantity, material, geometry, and dimensional requirements.
When investment casting is the right choice
Investment casting is excellent for complex, delicate, or media-contacting components. The process allows undercuts and precise contours with a clean surface. Particularly in stainless steel casting, it is often the only economical solution.
Typical applications:
- Pump components with flow channels
- Support structures for medical technology
- Housings with integrated seals
- Special fittings in food technology
When die casting is the better option
Die casting is used when aluminum needs to be processed and high quantities are required. The process is fast, repeat accurate, and ideal for housings, brackets, or load-bearing parts with defined dimensions.
Typical applications:
- Components for automotive and bicycle technology
- Housings in electronics
- Mounting plates with fastening elements
- Functional units in mechanical engineering
When water glass casting is sensible
Water glass casting forms the link between investment and sand casting. It combines good dimensional accuracy with economical production, ideal for medium quantities and complex geometries. The process allows robust components with a fine surface while lowering tooling costs.
Typical applications:
- Valve technology
- Fittings construction
- Machinery and plant engineering
When vacuum casting is the best solution
Vacuum casting shows its strengths with high-alloyed or titanium-based materials that react strongly in the presence of oxygen. Casting under vacuum creates dense, pore-free, and dimensionally accurate components with a smooth surface and high material purity.
Typical applications:
- Energy and turbine technology
- Aerospace and medical technology
- Highly stressed functional parts in mechanical engineering
Materials we process
A good material makes the casting not only stable, but also suitable under the right conditions. SBV works with various alloys, tailored to the purpose, temperature, media contact, or mechanical load.
- Stainless steel
Corrosion-resistant, hygienic, and high-strength. Ideal for medical technology, food equipment, or applications with chemicals. - Aluminum
Light, conductive, stable. Particularly suitable for housings, supports, and components with weight limits or high volume. - Special alloys
For extreme conditions, we provide temperature and media-resistant materials. We also adapt formability or hardenability to your application.
We advise you early on choosing the suitable alloy and take care of procurement, including material verification and documentation.
From CAD model to series: How a project runs with us
We accompany each casting project from the first contact to the final delivery. Our goal is a precise, economically sensible solution that integrates reliably into your processes. The process is well structured and coordinated by a dedicated contact person.
Inquiry and initial assessment
You send us a drawing and 3D data, ideally with material preference, quantity, and information about the application area. We check the technical feasibility and provide you with an initial assessment.
Consultation and offer phase
We clarify open questions, advise on casting and production-technical design, and, if necessary, select the appropriate stainless steel quality together with you. You then receive a non-binding offer including delivery time, tooling costs, and project planning.
Tool construction and sample manufacturing
After placing the order, a final simulation is conducted to ensure an optimal casting process. We create the wax mold and produce initial samples for dimensional inspection, functional assessment, and approval.
Series release and production
After your approval, we start series production. The parts are manufactured, inspected, and, if necessary, mechanically processed or heat treated.
Delivery on demand
We deliver the finished precision cast parts on call, in specified batch sizes, or as a complete batch. Intermediate storage in Germany is possible if required.
Quality that holds up in use
Our cast parts go through defined inspection processes, aligned with what your component needs to perform. Dimensional accuracy, material quality, and surface quality are reliably and verifiably checked.
Be it measurement protocol, material certificate, or special inspection report, we provide the documentation that counts for your quality assurance. If there are special requirements, we coordinate the inspection scope directly with you. Clear, binding, and straightforward.

What makes a cast part anyway?
A casting is created when metal flows into a mold and solidifies into the final geometry. That’s the theory. In practice, it’s about much more:
- Does the geometry need to be robust?
- Are there undercuts or cavities?
- How precise do the dimensions need to fit?
- Should the part be processed further directly?
Only when these questions are clarified does casting as a process make sense. This is exactly where our work begins. We examine your idea, model, or drawing and honestly say whether the component works in casting or not.
